Cinema Paradiso was a great film. It’s a film about a successful film maker who reminisces about his childhood past after hearing the tragic news about his old friend Alfredo who recently passed away. This movie shows the progression of Salvador Di Vita’s life from boyhood to adolescence.
I really liked how the film shows us the relationship of Alfredo and Toto and its evolution throughout the film. Alfredo was initially annoyed by Toto because he was a very deceitful boy yet he was very likeable. As time progresses we see the father and son relationship that develops between them.
The music in Cinema Paradiso was beautiful. Every time I hear it, it always brings a sense of peacefulness.
Overall Cinema Paradiso was a good last film to show for the Art of Film. I would definitely recommend watching this.
