Jesus Camp is a documentary about the experiences that several of the kids had while attending an evangelical Christian summer camp.
What really disturbed me about this film were the things that the adults were teaching to the kids. It seemed like they were brainwashing them into believing that their religion was the only “right” one and that the others were wrong to believe in anything else. It’s startling to see how the opinions of the kids are being fed by the grown ups and how having a different voice or perspective is intolerable. It’s one thing to have a child exposed to a belief but it’s another thing to force them into accepting it.
Overall, I thought that Jesus Camp did a good job showing the influences that the adults had on these kids. It makes you wonder what’s in store for these kids in the future.
